In an important milestone the last jackets for the 950 MW Moray East offshore wind farm were safely loaded onto the heavy lift vessel at Rig Metals LLC (part of Lamprell) in Dubai ready for their onward journey to Europe, under the management of DEME Offshore.
DEME Offshore has been awarded a substantial (1) EPCI contract for the inter-array cables at the Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B wind farms in the UK, the first two phases of the 3.6 GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm which is the world’s biggest offshore wind farm under development.
DEME Offshore has successfully installed two of three offshore substation platforms (OSP) for the Moray East wind farm in the Moray Firth in Scotland. In the meantime jacket installation is also progressing with 20 jackets installed. The installation marks a major milestone in the progress of the construction of the 950 MW offshore wind farm.
The Flemish government, Port of Antwerp and contractor SeReAnt (a partnership between the Jan De Nul GROUP and DEME environmental companies) will begin dredging and processing the most polluted dredging sludge at the port, the so-called TBT sludge, this month. “After years of research, there is now finally a solution to this historical pollution. This is a worldwide first and a milestone for Flanders and Port of Antwerp,” says Lydia Peeters, Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works. “We will remove the most contaminated sludge from the docks. As a result, water quality will improve substantially.”
DEME Offshore is delighted to announce the successful installation of the first jacket at the 950 MW Moray East offshore wind farm. In total, 100 wind turbine jackets and 3 offshore substation jackets will be installed at Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm.
Following the signing of the early works agreement in April 2020, CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) has now taken the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the construction of ‘Green Jade’, which is the first floating DP3 heavy lift and installation vessel to be built in Taiwan.
DEME Offshore has installed the first turbine at the SeaMade offshore wind farm in the Belgian North Sea. With a 487 MW capacity, SeaMade is the largest offshore wind farm in Belgium.
LANTIS, the project developer responsible for the prestigious ‘Oosterweel link’, which will complete the Antwerp Ring Road, has awarded the contract for the construction of the Scheldt tunnel to the Tijdelijke Handelsvennootschap Combinatie Oosterweeltunnel (THV COTU) consortium today, 3rd June 2020.
Environmental specialists at DEME’s de Vries & van de Wiel and consulting and engineering firm Tauw have joined forces to develop a cost-efficient and sustainable cleaning technique for PFAS-containing soil in the Dutch market.
