DIMCO’s Engineering Department supports the tender and operational divisions of DIMCO as well as other DEME entities/subsidiaries or external parties with expertise advice.
A team of structural engineers, geotechnical engineers and CAD/BIM operators elaborate small to medium sized civil marine projects down to the detail design stage including work shop drawings and as built hand over packages.
Besides this team, several design engineers and coordinators operate as design managers on ongoing medium sized to large marine infrastructural projects and tenders. These projects are situated all over the world, whereby the design coordinators are either working from our head offices, or are temporarily based on the project location.
In depth knowledge and experience of immersed and bored tunnels, traditional cut-and-cover tunneling and large quay walls is available.
The Engineering Department can also offer specialist advice concerning a wide variety of piling techniques including drive-ability analyses, pneumatic and open-cut caisson sinking and retaining wall structures using diaphragm wall or secant piles. Added value can be found in the support related to temporary structures and specialized construction techniques using post-tensioning, jacking, skidding and alike.
Finally, the DIMCO-Engineering Department has in-house knowledge of up-to-date Systems Engineering and BIM techniques.
Design work can be based on Client’s basis of design/concept or on own alternative design approaches.
Strong cooperation with the DEME Design Management Department assures a flexible response to the requests of the different tender or operational teams.
