As a Category Buyer for DEME Group, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies for a defined set of commodities, take the lead in managing a portfolio of preferred suppliers, build up extensive market knowledge, work together with internal stakeholders to strive for best fit solutions and be an advocate of procurement best practices within the organization. As a Category Buyer within the team “Machinery Equipment” you will take the lead – on a tactical/strategic level – in procurement of equipment and services within the following categories: hydraulic, electromechanical, propulsion systems and other technical hardware. You will work in a team of 10 people, consisting of operational and category buyers. You will mainly work from our HQ in Zwijndrecht, Belgium.

Within our Fleet Organisation, which ensures all maintenance and technical management of our fleet of dredging and offshore vessels, you work in the team that is responsible for managing all vessel certificates. These are all certificates required according to the International Maritime Organisation’s standards (such as classification , Flag State, …).
You provide support to our Technical Superintendents and Vessel Managers for all certificate related matters, answer their questions, assist them in applying for and obtaining the necessary documents and assist in the implementation of new regulations, … . Outside DEME, your main contacts are government agencies and classification societies.
As a Data Support Officer in our Technical Competence Center, you are responsible for the creation and update of master data objects in Maximo, in close cooperation with technical experts and our internal customers.
The BISS Operations Helpdesk Team is responsible for supporting the workstations of all DEME employees. As an IT Helpdesk Operator, you are part of the worldwide support and you are the contact for all employees. You help these employees with their questions, requests and reports of faults. You will work from the head office and can rely on the support of your immediate colleagues. You report to the team leader of the Helpdesk Team and to the BISS Operations Manager.
The IT Business Partner will serve as a primary link between the IT department and business/departments, in this case specifically the HR and Finance Departments, as well as our Environmental activity Line.
The main goal of the partner is to develop IT roadmaps, execute solution discovery, improve service management, … The IT Business Partner will not only offer expert consulting services but will also actively participate in technology projects and initiatives. They need to communicate relevant updates (strategy, projects, initiatives, service performance, …) both to the IT community and to the business stakeholders. They play a key role in sharing knowledge across the company and identify synergies related to technology.
