DEME has once again been named most attractive private sector employer in Belgium at the Randstad Awards 2019. The award is based on the results of a survey among 14,000 respondents.

Over the years DEME consistently maintains its strong reputation as an attractive employer with an outstanding working environment as well as excellent career and development opportunities. In the annual Randstad survey DEME stands out as the number one in the categories job security, future perspectives to build a career, job content, an enjoyable workplace atmosphere, new technologies, salary and benefits. DEME also ranks as the top company people want to work for.

“This award is a fantastic recognition for our employees”, says Luc Vandenbulcke, CEO DEME Group. “The success of our company is first and foremost the achievement of our employees worldwide. At DEME we place great emphasis on attracting and retaining the best people in the industry, offering employees the opportunity to work on ground-breaking projects and to grow their careers in an innovative environment.”

A strong growth in offshore energy projects, as well as in the dredging, infra marine and environmental activities worldwide, meant that DEME faced the considerable challenge of recruiting more than 600 new employees over the past year, including 150 crew members. The strong reputation of the DEME brand was highlighted during this recruitment campaign as the company managed to fill all of the vacancies, even in today’s highly competitive labour market. Also in 2019 DEME is recruiting employees for projects worldwide as well as crew for the growing fleet of vessels.
