Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd., Japan’s leading marine contractor, and DEME Offshore, Belgium’s leading offshore marine engineering company, have concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding comprehensive cooperation for the construction of offshore wind farms in Japan.
The two substations for the SeaMade offshore wind farm have been successfully installed in the Belgian North Sea. This installation marks a major milestone in the construction of Belgium’s largest offshore wind farm.
DEME Offshore is pleased to announce that its work on the foundation structures for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm has reached another key milestone, with all 37,000 tonnes of pin piles for the project now installed in the Moray Firth concession area.
The first of two offshore substations for the SeaMade offshore wind farm left the construction yard in Hoboken for its final destination in the Belgian North Sea. The 1,200 tonne substation has four decks, is 14 metres high and has an output capacity of 235 MW.

DEME has been awarded a contract as part of a joint venture for the widening of the Kiel Canal in Germany. Works started in January 2020 and will run until the end of 2023.
Port of Oostende, DEME Concessions and PMV are announcing an exclusive partnership on Monday 27 January. Their goal is to have a plant operational in the port area of Ostend by 2025 that produces green hydrogen. This end product, green hydrogen, will both serve as an energy source for electricity, transport, heat and fuel purposes and as a raw material for industrial purposes.
In only the second ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation to take place in Germany, the world’s largest LNG bunker vessel ‘Kairos’, operated by Nauticor, has supplied DEME’s next generation offshore installation vessel ‘Orion’. For the Port of Rostock, this ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation is a premiere.
DEME Offshore has reached a remarkable milestone with the installation of turbine number 2,200! The 7 MW turbine was installed at the 714 MW East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm in the UK by our jack-up vessel ‘Sea Installer’.
