Taiwan based CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) and the Zhong Neng Wind Power Corporation Preparatory Office have signed two contracts for the Zhong Neng offshore wind farm project. The contracts include transportation and installation of foundations, as well as a Preferred Bidder Agreement (PBA) for transportation and installation of wind turbines.
Today in Taipei, the Hai Long Offshore Wind (OFW) Project signed Taiwan’s first large-scale Balance of Plant (BOP) Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) with local company CSBC DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), marking another significant milestone in realising the localisation of Taiwan’s offshore wind industry.
On 3 October 2019, DEME Offshore’s ‘Sea Challenger’ and crew completed the installation of 174 SWT-7.0 MW turbines on Hornsea One, the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
DEME Offshore is making strong progress on the installation of pin piles at the Moray East wind farm in the UK. Having started offshore construction works with the jack-up installation vessel ‘Apollo’ in May 2019, piling activities have now passed the halfway mark, with more than 156 pin piles out of a total of 309 installed. The piles are part of the jacket-based foundations on which the turbines will later be installed.
DEME’s installation vessel ‘Innovation’ will set sail to the Belgian North Sea with the first load of 58 turbine foundations and transition pieces for installation at the SeaMade offshore wind farm. Currently the first monopiles and transition pieces are being loaded at SIF’s Maasvlakte terminal in Rotterdam.
A consortium including DEME and Eiffage Métal has been awarded a major EPCI contract for 80 foundations at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France. The scope includes the design, fabrication and installation of the steel foundations. The consortium contract has a total value of more than EUR 500 million.
DEME successfully completed the installation of 85 km of subsea export cable for Elia’s Modular Offshore Grid, deploying the state-of-the-art cable installation vessel ‘Living Stone’. The cable connects Elia’s Offshore Switch Yard to the shore station Stevin at Zeebrugge, as well as the Rentel wind farm Offshore Substation.
A consortium of DEME, Tractebel, Jan De Nul Group, Soltech and Ghent University is proud to announce the launch of an innovative project in the field of marine floating solar technology. The partners strongly believe that solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in offshore waters are one of the essential future green energy sources. Combined in the same location with aquaculture and offshore wind power, this innovative technology allows for a more efficient use of available space.
DEME’s ambitious multi-year fleet investment programme continues with the arrival of the new generation trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Bonny River’. The vessel is currently being mobilised in Flushing, the Netherlands, for its first assignment.
DEME Offshore has been awarded a major contract for the transport and installation of 165 foundations at Ørsted’s Hornsea Two offshore wind farm in the UK. Additionally, DEME Offshore secured the contract for the transport and installation of the turbines at the wind farm.
